I got a new camera for Christmas,a Canon Rebel T2i. The Rebel is my first digital camera. (My first car was an AMC Rebel. That probably isn't germane, but it just popped into my mind and it is kind of interesting. At least to me. I had a lot of fun with that Rebel.)
I'm so intimidated by my new camera, that I haven't even taken off the lens cap yet. So, after a lot of Internet research, I signed up for a photography course with the New York Institute of Photography (NYIP).
I'm normally more than a little skeptical of study-at-home courses, but I choose NYIP for several reasons.
- It's been around a long time, a hundred years.
- Reviews from actual students were mixed, but the positive outweighed the negative.
- They've recently revised their format and updated the content.
- They offered a comprehensive course for what appears to be a reasonable fee, compared to other courses I found.
- It was recommended by Beverly Schulz, an instructor for on-line photography courses. (I don't know Beverly Schulz, but I enjoyed the course I took.
